Sometimes when we read, we form opinions about whether what the character did was right or wrong. In chapter 2 in Justin and the Best Biscuits in the World, Justin has some problems he has to face. Do you think that he handled the problem in a good or bad way? Explain, in detail, your thinking. Use examples from the book to support your ideas.

When you read a story that really interests you, you have made some sort of connection to the book. Maybe one of the characters reminds you of yourself or someone you know! Maybe the main character is struggling with the same problem you are dealing with in your real life! Making connections to books is very important. It shows you are really understanding what you are reading. Think about the first chapter that you read yesterday in Justin and the Best Biscuits in the World. What connection did you make in the chapter? Explain to me what your connection was and how it is important to you. Explain why it makes you want to read more.

It's About That Time Again

Have you gone into the stores and noticed all of the school supplies sitting and staring you in the face? It is right around the corner! Soon enough, you will be filling that bookbag thinking to yourself, "There is no way the summer is over! I just got out of school!" I feel it too but sure enough it is coming! Yes, I have bought some pencils, pens, and highlighters. I have checked the latest fashions in totes for all of my books. I am getting prepared and slowly getting excited about getting back into learning mode! So what have you been doing to get ready for school? Have you bought your uniforms? Has Mom or Dad bought your pencils and folders?
